Tiger Woods is currently awake and responsive according to the statement posted on Twitter. Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods, an American professional golfer, was involved in a car crash from which had to be pulled out through his car’s windshield by first responders.
Statement: The official statement thanked Tiger’s fans for support and messages and said that the golfer was involved in a single-car accident in California.

What you need to know: Woods was driving alone when his SUV flipped over. The crash was so severe that L.A. County Fire Department needed a pry bar and an axe to get Woods out from his upturned car through the windshield.
- L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told reporters that there was “no evidence” of Woods being impaired by alcohol, sedatives or drugs.
